Encantadora ciudad, capital del departamento de Boyacá, donde sus calles, habitantes, casas y alrededores, respiran historia, cultura y tradición. Tunja posee variedad de atractivos turísticos, entre casas, templos, museos y plazas, que conservan la memoria histórica de la región y la hacen una ciudad de gran actividad cultural.

  • Su plaza colonial principal es una de las más grandes en el país.
  • Los antepasados Chibchas le daban el nombre de Tchunza, Junza o Hunza, al extenso territorio que comprendía lo que ahora es la ciudad de Tunja.
  • El nombre Hunza, significa “Varón Prudente”.
  • Tunja es sede del Festival Internacional de la Cultura y del Aguinaldo Boyacence.
