Quienes vayan a visitar el Parque Natural Nacional Los Nevados deben solicitar un permiso ante la Unidad Administradora Especial de Parques Nacionales Naturales (http://www.parquesnacionales.gov.co). Así mismo se recomienda llevar ropa abrigadora como trajes térmicos, guantes, gorro, bufanda, entre otros; y recibir la vacuna contra la fiebre amarilla, la gripe y el tétano.

En Pereira se conserva la tradición de la siesta (tiempo de reposo o descanso), razón por la cual muchas empresas y lugares comerciales suelen estar cerrados entre las 12 p.m. y 2 p.m.
