Barrancabermeja es una ciudad de gran importancia económica, no sólo para el departamento de Santander sino para Colombia en general, gracias al desarrollo de las industrias petrolera y petroquímica, de su infraestructura y servicios. Así mismo es un lugar de riqueza e intercambio cultural, debido en parte al importante número de personas que llegan al municipio, provenientes de diferentes regiones del país, atraídos por la fiebre de oro negro.

  • Barrancabermeja cuenta con uno de los puentes viales más importantes y modernos del país. Ha sido galardonada en diferentes categorías, gracias a su infraestructura e importancia para la conexión de los departamentos de Santander y Antioquia.
