Sus pueblos y ciudades están rodeados por una vegetación conformada por cafetales, cultivo de plátanos, guamos, heliconias y guaduales, que ofrecen una experiencia única de relajación y el ocio. El Paisaje Cultural Cafetero, declarado Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la Unesco, ofrece la oportunidad de que los visitantes conozcan y valoren la tierra donde se cultiva uno de los mejores cafés del mundo.

Curiosidades y tips

  • Hace parte del Triángulo del café, declarado en el 2011 por la Unesco como Patrimonio de la Humanidad.
  • El Quindío fue pionero a nivel nacional, en dar a conocer los “Parques Temáticos”.
  • Para sacarle el máximo provecho al recorrido por el Quindío, se recomienda una visita de mínimo 4 días.
  • Para el disfrute de cada uno de los atractivos, es recomendable llevar ropa cómoda y para todo tipo de climas, ya que el sistema montañoso puede tener temperaturas bajas o altas dependiendo del lugar que se visite.
  • Para aquellos que desean visitar el Parque Natural Nacional Los Nevados, se recomienda llevar ropa cómoda y equipos completos de camping. Llevar dulces y maní para mantener las calorías del cuerpo.
  • La gastronomía es parte importante de la tradición paisa, en el Quindío se puede disfrutar en cada municipio de las delicias típicas de la región.
  • La distancia entre los municipios y atractivos turísticos no es mayor a 45 minutos, gracias al pequeño porcentaje de superficie que ocupa el departamento.
