Es un pueblo importante por los sucesos que allí acontecieron, puesto que se encuentra la piedra de Bolívar donde el libertador luchó contra el coronel español Basilio García.
Adicionalmente, en este municipio se pueden encontrar petroglifos realizados por los indígenas que habitaban la zona antes de la llegada de los españoles. Dentro de los más importantes se encuentra la Quebrada Peligrosa, La Espiral y el Tejar.
Este municipio también cuenta con atractivos naturales como la Laguna Coba Negra.

Ipiales
Esta ciudad se encuentra ubicada en la frontera con Ecuador y a 87km de Pasto. Es una ciudad con gran cantidad de parques y verdes campos, razón por la cual el poeta Juan Montalvo Fiallos la bautizó “La ciudad de las nubes verdes”.
En esta ciudad se encuentra el reconocido Santuario de Las Lajas sobre el cañón del río Guaitara. Dentro de la ciudad es recomendable visitar el barrio El Charco en donde podrá degustar el plato típico de la región: El Cuy.
