Además de disfrutar de los atractivos culturales, como museos e iglesias; de la variedad de zonas verdes que están representadas por el gran número de parques que hay en la ciudad y de la oferta gastronómica y hotelera que ofrece la capital santandereana; los alrededores de la ciudad constituyen otro destino de viaje.

El fervor religioso, se mezcla con su ambiente de calma y meditación que recrea sus calles empedradas y sus casas de barro en color blanco, como sus habitantes han decidido conservarlas. En este municipio en particular, las festividades como la Semana Santa o los aguinaldos en vísperas de un nuevo año son celebraciones bastante tradicionales.

Se encuentra situado entre los municipios de Floridablanca y Piedecuesta, a aproximadamente 5 minutos de Bucaramanga Gracias a sus características geográficas, es escogido por los deportistas y aficionados como sitio de práctica de parapente.
